The Joyful Mysteries

The Annunciation   The Visitation
The Annunciation  Mother of the
Word,
Oh tell me your mystery.
After the moment of the Incarnation,
Tell me how you spent your life buried in adoration.
Poem 88
The Visitation  It seems to me that the attitude of the Virgin during the months which elapsed between the Annunciation and the Nativity is the model for interior souls: those whom God has chosen to live within, in the depths of the bottomless abyss.
Heaven in Faith 40
The Birth of Jesus   The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple
The Birth of Jesus  In the guise of an infant,
we can contemplate the Invisible:
O, Mystery Incomprehensible,
Jesus the Strong One, the Omnipotent,
The hidden God, the Inaccessible,
Became for us an infant.
Poem 96
The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple  At each feast of Mary, I renew my consecration to this good Mother. Today, thus, I entrusted myself to her and once again, I threw myself into her arms... May I always comport myself worthy of my Beloved Spouse.
Diary 2
The Finding of Jesus in the Temple
The Finding of Jesus in the Temple  With your Son,
Beloved Mother, I appeal
I want to lead
A life concealed.
Poem 2

The Luminous Mysteries

The Baptism   The Wedding at Cana
The Baptism  I understood the supreme lesson
Of my Master and Lord,
“who emptied Himself
By taking the form of a slave”.

Poem 96
The Wedding at Cana  The Gospel says “there was a wedding at Cana and the Mother of Jesus was there”, and this was the occasion when at the request of the Virgin, Our Lord performed His first miracle. This is recounted to show us how interested God is in all our needs, even the most material ones. So let us have confidence in His love!
Letter 246
The Proclamation of the Kingdom   The Transfiguration
The Proclamation of the Kingdom  May the reign of love then be fully established in your interior kingdom, and may the weight of that love draw you to complete self-forgetfulness, to that mystical death of which the Apostle spoke when he exclaimed: “I live no longer I, but Jesus Christ lives in me”.
Letter 264
The Transfiguration  O Father, bend lovingly over Your poor little creature; “cover her with Your shadow”, seeing in her only the “beloved in whom You are well pleased”.
Notes 15
The institution of the Eucharist
The institution of the Eucharist  It seems to me that nothing better expresses the love in God’s Heart than the Eucharist: it is union, consummation, He in us, we in Him, and isn’t that Heaven on earth?
Letter 165

The Sorrowful Mysteries

The Agony of Jesus   The Scourging at the Pillar
The Agony of Jesus  If, despite everything, emptiness and sadness overwhelm you, unite this agony with that of the Master in the Garden of Olives, when He said to the Father: “If it is possible, let this cup pass me by”.
Letter 249
The Scourging at the Pillar  O my Jesus, to suffer all, to endure all! Oh keep me; my heart is there close to Yours.
Diary 37
The Crowning with Thorns   The Carrying of the Cross
The Crowning with Thorns  Then when the hour of humiliation, of annihilation comes, she will recall this little phrase, “but Jesus was silent”, and she will be silent, “keeping all her strength for the Lord, this strength which “we draw from silence”.
Last Retreat 39
The Carrying of the Cross  To strip off self, to die to self, to lose sight of self. It seems to me the Master meant this when He said: “If anyone wants to follow Me, let him take up his cross and deny himself”.
Last Retreat 24
The Crucifixion
The Crucifixion  Let us remain at the foot of the cross where our Beloved One is calling us, and when we cannot pray anymore, Oh! let us gaze at Him!
Letter 55

The Glorious Mysteries

The Resurrection   The Ascension
The Resurrection  Sunday, we will rise with Him. Oh this beautiful feast of Easter, it seems to me that we should go to celebrate it above, in our Carmel of Heaven; but when He wishes, life or death, it does not matter, let us love!
Letter 42
The Ascension  When you think that Heaven is the Father’s House, where He waits for us as for beloved children returning home after a time of exile, and that He makes Himself our traveling companion to lead us there.
Letter 295
The Descent of the Holy Spirit   The Assumption
The Descent of the Holy Spirit  With your pure and burning flames,
Holy Spirit,
to enkindle my soul;
Consume it with divine love,
O you whom I invoke each day.
Poem 54
The Assumption  I leave with the Blessed Virgin on the eve of her Assumption to prepare myself for eternal life...Beatitude attracts me more and more; between my Master and me that is all we talk about, and His whole work is to prepare me for eternal life.
Letter 306
The Coronation
The Coronation  I weep for joy when I think that this wholly serene, wholly luminous Creature is my Mother and I delight in her beauty like a child who loves its mother; I feel strongly drawn to her, I’ve made her Queen and Guardian of my heaven, and of yours, for I do everything for both of us...
Letter 298
